Associate Status
Associate status allows potential suppliers of wines, technical services or other forms of support (e.g. funding agencies or consultancies) to enter into closer association with IWCA.
It is also possible for new market entrants and other potential members to 'sample’ the IWCA at a modest cost which will keep them informed and, in due course to achieve full membership.

OBJECTIVES OF ASSOCIATE STATUS
Expertise

To give IWCA members and IWCA itself access to sources of expertise that may not exist within its membership. Examples include:
  • wine education
  • market intelligence
  • IT applications
  • communications technology
  • oenological information and testing
  • the provision of expert speakers for workshops
Supply Sources

To put IWCA members into contact with willing co-operators in the supply markets. Of particular interest is the possibility of intra country co-operation between one supply source and several IWCA members.

Publicity

To assist with our aim of raising the profile, and therefore the market appeal, of the distance selling industry. Associate members will be active in promoting our Association and our industry through their networks, thereby improving the supply of promotional support funds and investment funds.

Recruitment

To provide a lower cost form of membership to attract small operators or other potential members to become full members in due course.

Sponsorship

To encourage associates to help develop the direct marketing of wine by providing financial and other support for IWCA activities such as Congresses and workshops.
